What is the Purpose of Shoring Scaffolding?

There are many different types of scaffolding available to suit a variety of needs and to ensure the success of different types of projects. One of the most commonly used types of scaffolding is shoring scaffolding. If you are working on any kind of building or renovation project that requires a structure to be held up, it can be useful to know what the purpose of shoring scaffolding is. At United Scaffold Supply, we provide scaffolding rentals, sales, and services for projects all over the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.

What is Shoring Scaffolding?

Shoring is the process of temporarily propping up a structure with timber or metal devices called shores. Shoring scaffolding is a system of multiple shores that have been secured together to form a scaffold and to provide better structural support.

What is Shoring Scaffolding Used For?

Shoring scaffolding is used to support structures temporarily in load-bearing capacities. It can be incredibly useful in instances where a load-bearing wall, pillar, or other structure needs to be replaced, or if a structural element needs to be propped up while other parts of the edifice are built around it. Shoring scaffolding is traditionally only used to support structures, but there are some types of shoring scaffolding that can also be used to provide access to the components being propped up. Because it is important to be able to adjust how the load is being supported, most types of shoring scaffolding can be adjusted using jack systems. Shoring scaffolding is often used while concrete sets and forms are being removed, while masonry work is being completed, during a framing process, and as a temporary structure.

Benefits of Shoring Scaffolding from United Scaffold Supply

There are many different types of shoring scaffolding and, at United Scaffold Supply, we only use top-of-the-line systems. To ensure that it can meet the demands of any job, our scaffolding has an extremely high load-bearing capacity and uses additional bracing and prop systems. Our jack systems offer extremely precise height adjustment and they are lightweight and easy to transport and install.
