The Parapet Clamp Guardrail

What is the Parapet Clamp Guardrail System?

The Parapet Clamp Guardrail is an easy-to-use, economical system that is designed to help protect workers from exposure to fall hazards. This type of guardrail system consists of clamps and corresponding guardrail posts, which are compatible with snap-on metal rails and 2×4″ boards. Designed to fit any parapet from 4-24″ wide, the Parapet Clamp Guardrail can easily be installed by one person and often entirely eliminates the need for other types of fall protection equipment. The Parapet Clamp Guardrail is engineered to comply with OSHA standards.

Fall Protection Hierarchy

Since falls from heights, even at relatively low elevations, can result in serious injuries, it is important to ensure that fall protection equipment is being properly used on the worksite. When choosing methods to eliminate or control fall hazards, companies must use the fall protection hierarchy. The types of fall protection equipment below are listed in the order in which they should be considered.

  1. Guardrails—Permanent or temporary guardrails work by forming a protective barrier around an opening or edge to prevent a fall to a lower level.
  2. Fall Restraints—This type of fall protection equipment prevents workers from falling by creating a travel restriction in which workers are attached to a fixed-length line, preventing them from travelling to close to an edge or opening.
  3. Fall Arrest—This type of fall protection equipment (including a lifeline or lanyard, a harness, and an anchor) protects workers after a fall by stopping them from hitting the surface below.

What is the purpose of shoring scaffolding and will it work for your project?
