Clamping Guardrails from United Scaffold Company News, Guardrails | July 18, 2019Whether you work in housing or high-rise construction, fall protection for employees should always be among your highest priorities for any job at heights. There are many different tools that can be used for fall protection and the safest jobs use multiple options at once in order to create redundancies. One fall protection system that has become more prominent in recent years is the parapet clamp guardrail system. At United Scaffold Supply, we supply parapet clamp guardrails to clients to ensure that their workers are kept safe.
How do you erect tube and clamp scaffolding?
What is a Parapet Clamp Guardrail System?
Most parapets provide minimal protection against falling from a roof or ledge. When a worker needs to complete a job, the parapet itself will do very little to keep them from falling over the edge if they lose their balance. Parapet clamp guardrail systems are designed to temporarily extend the parapet’s top edge to the height of a railing suitable for foot traffic at roof height.
Parapet clamp guardrails work by using a system similar to a large F-clamp to fasten a vertical post to the top of a parapet. The post has two metal slots at different heights for 2×4’s to slide through, providing a guardrail. The clamp is able to fit parapet thicknesses from 4 inches to 24 inches and they are easy for one person to set up.

United Scaffold Supply Now Stocks Guardrail Systems
To supplement our growing supply of safety and scaffolding equipment, United Scaffold Supply now stocks parapet clamp guardrail systems. Our guardrail systems are all OSHA compliant, corrosion resistant, and heavy duty.
We also now supply options for slab grabbers and bolt-down guardrail systems, which are similar to parapet clamp guardrails. Slab grabbers use a different clamping mechanism to attach to ledges rather than parapets, and bolt-down guardrails bolt in place to provide a more permanent solution.
Should you rent or buy scaffolding?
